  2. Heat a tsp of oil and roast urad dal, red chillies, curry leaves and asafoetida. Fry till urad dal turns golden red and red chillies crispy. when cool powder it in a mixie. In same kadai add one tbsp of oil add brinjal cubes and cook till soft, add in tamarind jaggery and salt to it when brinjal are cooked remove from flame when cooled add to mixie jar and grind to a coarse paste.
  3. Heat oil in small kadai add mustard seeds, curry leaves when they splutter add to chutney and serve with chapathis or Rice. Goes well with Ragi balls also.
